A national survey of tea party supporters conducted by the New York Times and CBS News has yielded some interesting results. Despite the overarching narrative that the Tea Party Movement is a predominantly male movement, the survey found that the Tea Party actually only split 59%/41% in favor of males. Additional findings of note included that your average Tea Party supporter was better educated, had a slightly higher income, and was only slightly more “conservative” than your average American (though little distinction was made between social conservatives and economic conservatives so this result could be slightly skewed).
