Scott Wise, Candidate for US House, District 3 Special Election

Media attention has been focused on District 3 in the wake of the unexpected resignation of long-time US Representative Mark Souder, a Republican, who has confessed to an extra-martial affair.

While Republicans scramble to caucus and select a replacement candidate, Libertarian candidate Scott Wise carries on with his campaign, focusing on cutting budgets and scaling back the scope of the military overseas.

Wise has experience, having been elected to the Whitley County Council, dealing first hand with making budgets work in tight economic conditions.

Three Way Race for U.S. House Seat

Scott Wise announced this morning he intends to be the next U.S. Representative for Indiana’s 3rd district.  Wise points out that most Republicans voted against Mark Souder in the May 4, 2010 primary, and in that same primary, Tom Hayhurst received only ¾ of the votes that Wise received in the 2008 GOP primary.

Wise was selected at the LPIN state convention on April 24th to defeat Tom Hayhurst and Mark Souder on November 2, 2010.  “There is no doubt this is a 3 way race,” commented Wise.  The Libertarian candidate for the House seat went on to say, “I’ve had enough of these two political parties promising one thing and once elected doing something entirely different.  Who can believe anything these people say?”  Wise went on to say, “It is clear the people have had enough as well, and that we can’t pretend what we are doing is working at any level.  The Libertarian party stands for the liberty that inspired this nation to achieve greatness, and the freedom as individuals that is unique to America.  If we do not return to our roots, and live within our means, hardship will be in America’s future for generations to come.”

The former Whitley County Councilman is running a grassroots campaign.  Wise added, “This election will deliver a large group of new representatives who believe in the constitution and the founders intentions.  Americans will push back against the progressive movement.  Big government officials, be they Republican or Democrat, are on their way out.

Over the course of the last 16 years, Mark Souder’s representation has moved us away from smaller government, capitalism, and liberty.  Tom Hayhurst will only deliver another vote to the Pelosi, Reid, and Obama agenda.  That leaves northeast Indiana voters with only one choice.  Vote Scott Wise for Congress.   To help Scott restore America, call (260) 229-7102.
