LP of Howard County announces meeting changes

The Libertarian Party of Howard County would like to invite the public to their next monthly meeting to be held Tuesday, August 24th at the Half Moon Brewery and Restaurant. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm for those desiring to partake in dinner, with the business portion of the meeting being conducted from 8:00 to 8:30 pm and an open social hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.

This meeting marks a change from the scheduled night of the monthly meeting from the third Monday to the fourth Tuesday of the month. Future monthly meetings have been scheduled at the Half Moon Brewery and Restaurant on August 24th, September 28th and October 26th. The party will take the month of November off and then meet on December 21st for a holiday party.

Jerry Titus, Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Howard County, had this to add: “We have rescheduled our monthly meeting to the fourth Tuesday of the month to avoid scheduling conflicts with our gracious hosts at the Half Moon. We hope this better accommodates our members and the public. While the primary purpose of our meeting is to conduct regularly scheduled business, we are also providing lectures and training sessions on political activism, libertarianism, civic leadership, critical thinking and applying libertarian principles to current events.”

“At our meeting this Tuesday we will be talking about the fall election and our canvassing plans to get the word out to the voting public about our candidates at the Federal, State and local levels. Howard County voters will have six Libertarian candidates on the ballot this November – Rebecca Sink-Burris for US Senate, Mike Wherry for Secretary of State, Chard Reid for US Congress District 5 and Mark Vogel for US Congress District 2.”

“As well, Keith Henry and myself are running locally for Center Township Board and County Council [respectively]. I’m also personally quite excited about two Independents on the county ballot this fall, Jay Martin for County Council and Rich Ferguson for County Sheriff. I’ve met both gentlemen and have found them to be solid Constitutionalists and worthy of our party’s support and will be lobbying party members for their support as well, at the meeting.”
